It caused more harm than good. I simply want to automatically delete duplicated files. The software was way too complicated. It moved my files, renamed them and separated it into separate folders by date. And I wasn\'t so sure if detection takes forever. Didn\'t work for me. Thank you though.

I used ACDSee for years with my PC. It not only lent itself to simple photo editing...cropping, color correction, rotation, batch renaming, etc., but to managing my particular photo filing system. (I am a surgeon and file photos under specific categories with a system which has stood the test of time for me and others.) This Mac version lacks the facility to add text to photos which has been available in ACDSee photo editing for PCs for years. The absence of this feature substantially reduces my interest in having the program on Mac. I use PCs and Macs. ACDSee for Mac has not, for my use, done anything to substantially improve on iPhoto. Browsing my several thousand photos on Mac with ACDSee is not at all as efficient as is ACDSee on PC. Having used ACDSEE 6,8, 10 & 12 on a PC I am extremely happy to have an opportunity to use it on a Mac. As a \'Browser\' it is preferable to others that recreate your images. I have only had a quick look at the Mac version but it gives me that \'going home\' feeling.It would appear to be missing some of the \'repair tool\' and add text functions however. What happens when the trial period ends do we just download another trial version because we do not seem to be able to purchase it yet ???

I was hoping that there was a newer version of ACDSee for the Mac.All I could find was this old version 1.6.

It does not convert .shs (scrap files) to .jpg files. It does not even open the .shs file. So for now, it is absolutely useless to me.

Testing Im still to figure out ACDsee. One problem I have right now is how to edit text on an image. Maybe someone can help out.Thanks.

Why I may purchase the program in the future Looks good but I am still awaiting my Vista computer to get back from the repair shop (again). I have found that if I download a program to a temporary computer or peripheral HD That I may be accused of trying to install a duplicate program on another computer when I try to use it in the future.

Opinion It deleted all the music off my computer, since I had jsut recently doubled copied all of it to the new computer. now its gone and I blame THIS program

Not user friendly For an administrator of many computers, with a high level of computer language expertise, this program looks as though it would be useful. For my purposes, as an individual attempting to "clean house", particularly with my many text files, I have discovered that Mac OSX, with its smart folders in spotlight, may be much faster than using your program.I note that you do not use English well, and this may be a problem, if your are directly translating what is called "geek" talk into colloquial English. I really have difficulties with analysing the results window after it found duplicates.You see only one picture per line so you can\'t tell where it compaired against and which one is the correct one or not. The help function is not very helpfull on this either.It would be more `logical` and intuative when the same layout would be used as in `duplicate photo finder`. On 1 line you see the 2 pictures+metadata which the program marked as \\\\\\\"same\\\\\\\". On this result you can decide which one you want to keep.The big advantage of this program is the ...

Pretty good I downloaded this program because I had a drive crash, and ended up paying someone to recover the data from my drive. I ended up with a lot of corrupt jpeg files, and a lot of actual complete jpeg files (all of them nameless and dateless ... and many many thumbnail versions of the same larger images). A lot of my files that are corrupt will show the top 10% of the file, and the bottom will all be black --- so most of those files were considered to be a match (95%) despite the fact that the top bit looked nothing alike.... ...

Answered to questions. I copy photos, arranged and organized them, post them to my friends etc.
